From the beginning to the present day...
1975
The company's history began in 1975, when the first own foil tents were built and volume production of tomatoes began. Over the years, thanks to the continuous development of the technology, by 1988 its production had reached such a level that the English National Geographic channel made an exclusive film about its innovative film coating methods.
1984
As the first stop in his career, he worked at the then Zöldért as a trade goods organizer. After that, he was sent to Poland to purchase goods, where he began to build up his Polish contacts and improve his Polish language skills. During his career, he joined Hungarofruct, the largest import-export company at the time, where he was responsible for the expansion and development of the Polish market.
1992
He founded his first own company together with his partner under the name Bestfruct Kft., with which they undertook a pioneering role in the development of the domestic melon market and the introduction of tarpaulin truck transport. Their biggest customer was Poland, where they achieved significant success in developing and expanding the market. In these years, red onion exports also reached their peak, which the company sold in large volumes to Germany. During this period, watermelon and red onion were the two dominant product profiles of the company.
1993
He started the independent production of 4/6 cardboard seedless melons, which he deliberately intended for the German, Swedish and Finnish markets.
1994
As the president of the Újkígyós Farmers' Circle, he united the entire town and supported the farmers, helping each other in the development of local agriculture through community cooperation.
1998
Csonka és Fia Kft. was established as an independent company, which was now not only involved in foil production and the purchase of outstanding quantities of melons, red onions and peppers, but also in field crops for its own purposes, within the framework of family farming.
2004
The construction and operation of the company's first own cold store began, and the export of frozen red onions for the Swedish company Dafgard began. At that time, onions were already the second largest export product of the company, Dafgard, which is, among other things, a food supplier to Ikea, and has been an important partner of Csonka és Fia Kft. ever since.
2016
The company started the production and purchase of sweet corn in outstanding quality and in significant quantities, which became another milestone in its activity. This year, he was recognized with the "New Snake" award for his farming work and contribution to the local community.
2018
